Candy Corn, Anyone?

I couldn't resist posting this picture. It really expresses the look that I love when decorating. Kind of a vintage/shabby look. This picture came from Country Living. Really....can you ever have too many uses for Ball jars? You couldn't pay me to eat a candy corn, but I love the idea of using them with the candles.

I have totally neglected this blog that I was initially so excited to write. Instead of trying to catch up on all the posts that I intended to make on this blog in the last several months, I am just going to start fresh. I am happy to say that our new house is slowly becoming home. For the first time, I have surrounded myself with a style of decorating that truly reflects me...even though it is quirky and eclectic. I have decided it's okay to make your home what you want it to be, rather than exactly follow what mass marketing tells you it should look like. I am going to work this weekend on taking some pics to post on here to show what I'm talking about!

Seeing Yellow

Lately, I am drawn to the color yellow. I can't personally wear yellow due to my pasty white pale complexion, but I can certainly surround myself with it! If only I had money to blow on fancy pillows ($98 each!), I would buy two of these lovely Jonathan Adler pillows to put in my kitchen. The pictures above are actually of the same pillow. There is a different design on each side...which is why it would be better to buy two, of course. I can just imagine them sitting on two of these oh-so-affordable Ikea chairs (only $14.99 each!). If you have any yellow decor items that I should know about, send them my way!
